This blog is my attempt to fix that — at least for myself, and hopefully for a few others.

I’m JM. I build things at the intersection of AI, Web3, and systems thinking.
My background spans software engineering, tooling research, and trying to make sense of fast-moving technical spaces without losing the thread of what actually matters. I’m based in Asia, shipping mostly in public.

What Signal Layer Is
The name comes from a simple frustration: most content in tech and crypto is noise dressed up as signal. Hot takes, engagement bait, recycled narratives — useful for attention, useless for thinking.
Signal Layer is where I write about the things I’m actually researching and building:
- AI — workflows, agents, tooling, and where the real leverage is for individuals and small teams
- Web3 — on-chain analytics, tooling infrastructure, and how to reason about a space that moves faster than most people can read
- Systems — mental models, process design, and the structural patterns that show up across domains
- Future of work — how the combination of AI and decentralized tools is reshaping what it means to build things independently
The writing is practical. I’m not here to predict the future or score engagement points. I’m here to think out loud, document what I find, and build a record of ideas that have actually been tested.
What to Expect
Posts will vary in length and form — some are long-form analysis, some are short observations, some are tool walkthroughs. The common thread is that I won’t publish something unless I think it adds genuine value over what’s already out there.
No calls. No hype. No “alpha” that’s already been front-run twelve times.
Just honest notes from someone trying to navigate these spaces carefully.
